The Unhinged InquisitorDuroki spent the duration of the year hunting down petty criminals, bandits, and members of the black market - and ruthlessly killing them, with absolutely zero remorse - forcing her sense of justice upon the world. Upon decapitating the heads of her victims, she would leave them on pikes in front of the homes of those she had tracked to have connections as criminal leaders - such as mobsters, and the likes. She has also been working to root out weakness in Kirigakure, and been quite active in attempting to join village politics, believing that they should hunt and eliminate any rogues who have ill intent towards the village and execute them without mercy. More specifically, Kisuke and his band. The streets are cleaner thanks to Duroki, but at the cost of an eerie and oppressive, almost tyrannical feeling. She does not do her work abiding by the wall, she does it in secrecy. Striking down ruthlessly and sadistically upon those who dare act against Kirigakure, or break its laws.
She has made a name for herself as a ruthless, vigilante serial killer.

A New Leader
Itazura Horiuchi. Doctor. Rogue. Kage.
Since his departure from Kirigakure with Kisuke Murakami, Itazura has had responsibility and fortune thrust upon him in greater quantities than his young self ever thought he was ready for. Not a month out of his home village and he was brought up to take on the leadership role of the village known as Uzushiogakure.. and from there the young man found himself absorbed in a combination of managing a village economy, restructuring a military and advancing himself as a shinobi.
At fifteen years of age.
Over the course of a year Uzushiogakure saw itself grow rather impressively despite the apparent inexperience of their newly appointed leader. Itazura, however well he had managed, still kept to himself during this year long transition and in-between his own personal affairs. When not visiting with village leaders or organizing trade agreements within the walls of the Kage Manor he'd often spend what others considered far too much time in their comparatively small hospital - some claiming he'd mysteriously vanish within the confines of the building for days at a time.
Regardless, his training under Kisuke and his experiences as a leader of men have changed the boy into a medical prodigy and a powerful shinobi in his own right.
He had nowhere to go but up.

Mazashi, SaburoIt's easily apparent that the Mazashi has disappeared, fading away from the eyes of many over the better part of a year. He informs few friends and allies of his departure, and it's after this that he, alongside a group of four others, venture to foreign land, arriving in the lands of Sunagakure to provide aid in their time of need. The work that's done is grueling, the amount of time and effort spent leads to almost no reward... but in the end, they manage to see a bit of progress. Their stress and hard work isn't for naught, and they've managed to at least come through with some sort of answer to the problems that Sunagakure faces.
His training is done alongside those he journeys with, and though not much time is put into bettering himself over the course of the year, he does manage to make some headway, learning new things, and growing stronger in various ways.
If only things could remain so easy.
The Sand Plague follows the group, and two members in particular are afflicted— though fate had been kind enough to spare their lives for the moment, it becomes quite clear that if left alone, the disease itself will harm more than just the shinobi of Sunagakure. No... now, it's a serious threat for all of Kirigakure, and if left alone, will spread across the entire nation and beyond.
There's some that may question Saburo's position— he's been gone for an entire year, and the details concerning the mission he'd gone on has been held secret, known by only the upper echelon of both Kirigakure and Sunagakure alike. Beyond this, a recent promotion to the rank of Jounin may also raise eyebrows— he isn't worth his salt, and he certainly can't hold his own, can he? All the same, the Chief Overseer of the Police Force has returned home, aiming to once again start anew. There's a desk full of documents to peruse, and likely a whole bunch of problems to deal with.
He's not forgotten the promises he's made, nor will he allow the world to push him to-and-fro any longer. It's now that he makes his stand, reaching for a better tomorrow alongside his allies. |
