But what about the rest of the world?
The world hasn't been quiet or still whilst Kirigakure went through it's plights, it's troubles, it's struggles.
Be it, the plight of the peasantry, to the troubles of the village's nobility, or to the struggles of the next generation of the village's Genin. All these are naught but trivial and minor to what the world has gone through; Kirigakure should consider itself lucky that it has had two years of peace, two years to climb back to a position where it is no longer as frail as it once was.
The Land of Lightning
Kirigakure's main enemy resides in The Land of Lightning, Kumogakure. Kumogakure hasn't been exactly silent within the last two years, rumours circulate around the Shinobi world that the Lightning Daimyō had insulted the Wind Daimyō recently in a political spat and that Kumogakure hasn't exactly been the most friendliest of neighbours to nearby hidden villages such as Shimogakure and Yugakure; the former supposedly skirmishing with Kumogakure and having lost, thus conceding to the village and reluctantly joining forces after it's Jōnin Commander was captured. Whereas the latter, Yugakure publicly debased Kumogakure and the Lightning Daimyō for their actions and stances recently, seen as an act of greed and powergrabbing, though reports state that Kumogakure and Yugakure have not fought persay, only had naught but tense political spats and arguments.
For now Kumogakure's eyes are turned away from it's former foe, Kirigakure, as it looks towards fresher... Greener pastures.
The Land of Fire
In the Land of Fire, things have been relatively stable, they have enjoyed a long and golden age of peace and tranquility for the most part, especially after a most recent trade agreement formed with the Land of Earth with the Earth Daimyō's blessing and the backing of Iwagakure. However for all the good things emanating from such a place, there's rumours that tensions are being formed from the nearby trouble that brews within The Land of Lightning ontop of Sunagakure supposedly moving Shinobi through The Land of Fire's territory without any permission granted by either it's Daimyō or Konohagakure. Only time will tell how things boil over and if Konohagakure ever cross paths with Sunagakure, should things continue down a rocky road.
The Land of Water
With a period of peace for two years, The Land of Water has relatively seen very little in the way of political agendas or spats. However within the last couple of months, there has been rumours that the Water Daimyō wishes to push forward to develop conversations with both the Wind Daimyō and Fire Daimyō. But due to complications between both the Wind and Fire Daimyōs, there has yet to be any serious progress made for either nations, to develop sustainable trading routes, especially with the talk of Kumogakure or rather The Land of Lightning, once more vying for power and expansion.
The Land of Wind
The Land of Wind has seen better days, with tales of rampant banditry along with Sunagakure acting more like a wild, cutthroat village of rogues, it's anyone's guess what the nation is up to. It has been said that Konohagakure and it's Shinobi have spotted several times, groups of trained Chūnin that belong to Sunagakure, moving through their territory with further reports stating they have been battling Kumo-nin at their borders. It is more than likely that the childish woman of a Daiymō that currently 'runs' The Land of Wind like a 'haphazard accident' as described by the Lightning Daimyō, is responding in kind to the insults traded at the most recent political gathering. Though it is suggested by those in the know-how, that if things continue, that The Land of Fire would sooner wage war against The Land of Wind for it's transgressions than take either sides in the whole debacle.
The Land of Earth
As usual, things have been quiet in The Land of Earth. Some might say that nothing goes on in the nation, which for the most part is true. Except for the talk of it's most recent trade agreement with The Land of Fire. Some say, that the Earth Daimyō is looking to expand The Land of Earth's influence through trade and diplomacy, by remaining a mostly passive and neutral entity in the grand scheme of things.
The Land of Iron
Quite unusual as it is, The Land of Iron has recently made a presence in the Shinobi world. One of it's famed Samurai warriors has been spotted within The Land of Fire, conversing with the Fire Daiymō; nothing else has been rumoured so far, but it is safe to assume, The Land of Iron certainly sent a heavily armoured messenger.
What about the other nations and hidden villages?
It's safe to assume that in the upcoming days, weeks and months, more and more will be revealed to the public, as reports and information becomes available; the last few years had been the most quiet and stale for the Shinobi world aside from Kirigakure's and Kumogakure's war that ended, with a period of two year peace following the conclusion; of course now, the clock is beginning to turn once again, starting off with The Land of Lightning's most recent activity and the drama surrounding the nation. Time will only tell if things boil over into a Great War once again.
