Leaders
Each nation usually has a Daimyō running the show
The Shinobi world is usually headed by rich and influential figures named Daimyōs; whilst a vast majority of them are naught but civilian nobles, it's the political power and resources they possess which truly made them formidable. Don't be mistaken, just because they are civilians doesn't mean that they are easy-pickings for your average Chūnin, these figures are often guarded by capable Ninja of their own, or by large armies which whilst lack the individual talents of a Ninja, they make up for it with their zealous loyalty and vast numbers coupled with standard military training.
That being said, some nations might not confirm to the cultural norms present in most Shinobi countries, such as the Land of Iron, who might elect more militarized leaders over political figures to run their nation.
Below is a list of each of the notable places within the world, with who and what, that is currently leading them.
The Land of EarthThe current leader of The Land of Earth is: the Earth Daimyō by the name of Naru, Tadashi.
It is said Tadashi is a calm yet calculating man that often remains impartial during political gatherings as to not implicate himself, his nation or Iwagakure in matters that ultimately are of no benefit to him or his associates. There is very little to be said about him as he is quite reserved and hidden these days due to his old age, it is said his grandson will replace him in the near future.
The Land of FireThe current leader of The Land of Fire is: the Fire Daimyō by the name of Sohoku, Yuki.
The youngest of the noble Sohoku family, Yuki made bold moves within The Land of Fire to secure her place as the Daimyō of the nation. It is said she can be quite ruthless and cunning at times, but ultimately disapproves of violence and sees it as a last resort; however due to her young age and naive views of and on the world, her influence over Konohagakure only extends so far when it comes to how the village conducts itself outside of The Land of Fire. Yuki is also sister to the current Wind Daimyō, Sada; the two are unlike one another, if one was to name who was the good child, it'd certainly be Yuki.
The Land of IronThe current leader of The Land of Iron is: the Samurai General, by the name of Meisei, Reika.
The Land of Iron is much different as it is a land filled with Samurai that have differing views and culture to that of the various nations that make up the Shinobi world; instead of a Daimyō, the land is headed by a Samurai General. It is said Reika is a master of wielding a vast variety of weapons, most noticeably wielding multiple bladed weapons at once, similar to wielding blades in Akimbo fashion. There is very little known about the woman's personality, as only the fame of her skills and rank seem to be well-known beyond the borders of The Land of Iron.
The Land of LightningThe current leader of The Land of Lightning is: the Lightning Daimyō, by the name of Hoga, Kenji.
Kenji is callous, ruthless and very demanding when compared to most people of his status, such as the other Daimyōs of the Shinobi world. He partially responsible for influencing Kumogakure to wage war against Kirigakure, in a bid to acquire more fame, wealth and power for himself and his nation and it is quite clear, he will stop at nothing in order to achieve his political goals. It is said his influence over Kumogakure is near absolute and that he is very good friends with the current Raikage and the clan heads of the village. Some of the richest merchants within The Land of Lightning hope for Kenji's death soon, as he is quite old and has a habit of plunging the country into needless wars which impact trade heavily; it is rumoured he is almost ninety years of age and is a seasoned Taijutsu practitioner.
The Land of SoundThe current leader of The Land of Sound is: the Sound Daimyō, by the name of Nōfu, Yoshi.
Yoshi originally was a wealthy merchant who owned several rice farms within the region before his rise to power, thanks to the fruitful trading between his company and those present within The Land of Fire, Yoshi was able to attract the attention of lesser clans and form a hidden village within the nation to cement his position as Daimyō; he had plenty of resources and money, along with the region having no real military presence. It is said, the man is not afraid of doing what he must to gain power and higher status but other than that is quite polite and friendly, even to his would-be rivals and enemies.
The Land of WaterThe current leader of The Land of Water is: the Water Daimyō, by the name of Nagata, Dai.
By now an old man, Dai has seen plenty of political conventions and went through plenty of difficult times. The man was originally an experienced chemist that peddled his wares around the Land of Water, until he found his lucky break; joining his efforts with another up and coming entrepreneur named Amegu, Shouko the two were able to boost their profits and secure a healthy future; whilst Shouko grew content with his work, Dai did not stop and carried on until he was elected as Daimyō, the two remained good friends however, with Shouko now acting as a advisor at times on internal affairs. It is said, personality-wise, the man is quite thoughtful and reserved and likes to keep things curt and precise in conversation, despite this, he is often guarded by a small squadron of Elite Kiri-Nin and a small regiment of specialized Mist Militia armed with various weapons when traveling from place to place, which to some hints at the fact the man has become paranoid in his old age.
The Land of WindThe current leader of The Land of Wind is: the Wind Daimyō, by the name of Sohoku, Sada.
The oldest of the noble Sohoku family and the most vain, Sada has made a reputation for herself by being quite the diva and employing underhanded tactics when it comes to political matters within the Shinobi world. If one was to compare her to her younger siblings, most noticeably Yuki, who is the current Fire Daimyō! One would fail to be able to comprehend how the two are related aside from appearances. Given The Land of Wind's recent happenings, some even suggest Sada is no better than a bandit queen with how she has acted and led the country; whilst Sunagakure acts as her personal iron fist, for whoever knows how long, the rest of the country is growing impatient and tired of her crass, vain and selfish behaviour which has led the country down a much darker age than it's previous Daimyō (whom she was rumoured to had assassinated) was ever capable of.
The Land of Whirlpools; UzushiogakureThe current leader of Uzushiogakure: the Uzukage, by the name of Horiuchi, Itazura.
A quiet and reserved young man with origins from the Land of Water, Itazura was granted the rank of Uzukage shortly after Kisuke Murakami took the title of Daimyo over the Land of Whirlpools. After Kisuke's disappearance the young man took charge of the village surprisingly quickly, effectively reshaping the military and organizing it into factions that suited his own tastes. He's demonstrated considerable intelligence and, despite his age, has earned the respect of many of the shinobi within Uzushiogakure within a single year's time. He's taken the knowledge and resources left behind by his teacher and used the funding to further boost the already growing economy, with the proceeds primarily being used for intelligence-gathering and military research. Most of the general public seems to regard the young Kage as a prodigy and a blessing, though his reclusive nature and reluctance to make any public statements has made a select few wary of their new leader.
Minor nations, unnamed countries and independent villages
Below is a list of the current leaders of the various minor nations, unnamed countries with a some degree of regional presence and the more independent villages of the world; due to the lack of fame and/or knowledge of these various places, there is little to be said about them just yet.
AmegakureThe current leader of Amegakure is: the Amekage, by the name of Tsuga, Haori.
TakigakureThe current leader of Takigakure is: the Village Head, by the name of Hirota, Atsuto.
KusagakureThe current leader of Kusagakure is: the Business Manager, by the name of Ose, Jou.
IshigakureThe current leader of Ishigakure is: the Ishikage, by the name of Rin, Joko
Nadeshiko VillageThe current leader of Nadeshiko Village is: the Village Leader, by the name of Ransu, Kaiya
