Karatachi Clan
As descendants of the beloved Second and callous, wardriven Third Mizukage, this family of talented suiton users became more famous and revered within the Hidden Mist Village over the past century. Their abilities are derived from the Second Mizukage's unique fighting style - using musical instruments in combination with suiton. Because of the Second Mizukage's reign, her family that would become a proper clan were heralded as nobility within the Mist that still clings to their name to this day.
With their lineage in mind, most Karatachi act proud and think highly of themselves. Their kage-ranked kin have passed, yet the Karatachi clan that remains continue to innovate on their ideas by utilizing new instruments and creating their own styles of Water Construct ninjutsu to expand upon the Second and Third's work. Their clan members always have vibrant, pink eyes and have hair colors that are usually light, like blonde and white, though black hair is possible.
Clan Perks
Regal Requiem [Innate]
This person is a member of the noble Karatachi clan, and has access to their hiden ability that allows for infusing musical instruments with chakra in order to perform jutsu. In lieu of handseals, members of the Karatachi clan plays notes on their chosen instrument to cast the second part of their hiden ability: water constructs. These constructs behave in a semi-sentient way and act according to their summoner's wishes, ranging from battle mounts, moving objects, or devastating creatures that harass their opposition. Constructs do not change shape after initial shaping and cannot regenerate damage.
Note: Handseal to note conversion is a complete 1:1 for the purpose of the Karatachi's handseal speed and jutsu handseals. Allows for creation of water construct jutsu and certain music-based techniques.
Clan Jutsu
Suiton: Suijun
[C-Rank]
The user conjures up a ball of water with their instrument. It's then spun in order to transition into a disc-like object in front of the user, forming a quickly rotating pressurized shield capable of blocking attacks and projectiles that come into contact with it. Techniques beyond the capabilities of the shield will outright shatter it, making the shield best at blocking attacks such as shuriken and katon.
Note: 5 notes. Forms in front of the user. Size of the shield is 1x1 plus 2 tiles in width per even Suiton tier (ex: 3 tiles width at T2 Suiton, 5 tiles width at T4 Suiton). Can block a single attack of equal strength or multiple weaker attacks. Karatachi Clan exclusive.
Req: Regal Requiem, T1 Water
Suiton: Mizu no Buki
[C-Rank]
By playing their instrument and channeling chakra through it, the user can gather up water and shape it into various weapons. These weapon constructs are then manipulated by playing music through their instruments from a short distance away. The distance they can travel from them and the size of the weapons scales with their water mastery, and the weapons float and dance in the air rather than be wielded in combat.
Note: 5 notes, can be sustained with a constant chakra drain. Base range of 4 tiles from the user, increases by 1 for each Suiton tier.
One weapon per Suiton tier. Karatachi Clan exclusive.
Req: Regal Requiem, T2 Water
Suiton: Suiryuben
[B-Rank]
The user creates an orb of water from which whips with sharpened tips are shot out from, and the number varies heavily upon the skill of the user. The whips travel at incredible speeds and can abruptly change their trajectory and bend in mid-air to pursue their target, and upon impact will stab deeply into their target and leave them bleeding heavily, but isn't capable of outright impaling foes.
Note: 11 notes. Two whips created per Suiton tier, up to 6. Whips can travel within a 7x7 of the water orb's location, each of which can change trajectory a single time. Karatachi Clan exclusive.
Req: Regal Requiem, T2 Water
Suiton: Mizu no Kemono
[B-rank]
Using a sizeable source of water the user manipulates the water with their instrument and transforms it into a giant wolf-like beast, large enough to tower over most. After creation, it's capable of traversing the battlefield a short distance from its user and acts on their will. It is capable of basic attacks, such as stomping, crushing, or swiping at enemies with sharp claws. The beast can also launch powerful streams of water from its mouth to wash enemies away, but reduces its own size for doing so. As it uses water-based attacks and takes damage, the size of the beast is continually decreased until it is extinguished.
Note: 12 notes. 5x5 in size, and requires a pre-existing source of that size or larger to be made from. Can only travel up to 5 tiles from its user. Sweeping Water Torrent is 5 tiles wide and 3 tiles long in front of the beast. Each use of Sweeping Water Torrent or being hit by a B-rank level jutsu takes a stack, and the beast disappears after three stacks being consumed. 3 turn cooldown. Karatachi Clan exclusive.
Req: Regal Requiem, T2 Water
Suiton: Suishoha
[B-Rank]
The user creates a spiraling vortex of water around themselves, that then crashes forward as a tidal wave. Using hand movements, the user can control the direction the wave goes, directing it with such incredible precision that it can split, curve around wide structures, then strike any targets behind it or follow a fleeing enemy's movements. The torrents carry immense pressure behind them within the wave- dazing and breaking the bones of those it directly strikes. After the technique concludes, the water that remains from the incredible wave settles into a large ankle-deep pool.
Note: 14 notes. Wave can be controlled within a 9x9 of the user, who must remain stationary during its use. Aftermath pool is 1x1 base, + 2x2 for each tier of Suiton the user has (3x3 at T1, 5x5 at T2, etc). Karatachi Clan exclusive.
Req: Regal Requiem, T2 Water
Suiton: Mizukagami
[A-Rank]
The user creates a large, flat, circular water construct in front of themselves. Its surface acts like a mirror, perfectly reflecting the attacking targets. After a short delay, the reflections emerge and materialize from the mirror that then collide with the mirrored targets. As these reflections can use the exact same technique as their counterpart — regardless of its type — they counter the attack completely, while repelling them in the process. However, upon impact, the reflections disperse into water. Due to the nature of this technique, it is effective at halting enemy advances yet usually negates any damage to the user or enemy. There is an additional cost to this technique equal to the power of the incoming attack.
Notes: 12 notes. Two turn cooldown. Karatachi Clan exclusive. Spawns one tile in front of the user.
