Kumogakure kicks Sunagakure down a notch!
Kumogakure's reserve forces have managed to push back Sunagakure's specialised squadrons!
Despite the initial success of Sunagakure's specialised Wind-Nin squadrons that were able to inflict heavy losses upon Kumogakure's reserve forces, it has been reported that three of the seven squads that Kumogakure's forces had encountered, have been dealt with! With either the majority of these tightly-knit squads being killed or heavily injured, causing a retreat across the board in fear of losing anymore Shinobi to the now effective counter-measures that the Cloud-Nin have employed. This begs the question of whether or not Kumogakure will pursue further action...
...However in other news, eyes have been placed onto the Land of Water most recently, why? It has been sending out quite a few scouting parties, to explore new lands to the eastern side of the Shinobi World and so far, they've discovered some interesting bits and pieces; this hasn't gone unnoticed and a few fear this going to lead to nothing other than the war between Kirigakure and Kumogakure being reignited. Kumogakure hasn't been too pleased with the hearing of such news; they believe that the Land of Water seeks allies, allies to oppose it's newly formed campaign in the west which consists of subjugation of it's neighbouring countries as to become more of a superpower. But Kirigakure isn't the only one that looks upon Kumogakure with disdain and distrust.
Rumours have it, that Konohagakure may very well be growing weary of the constant landgrabbing that Kumogakure has been doing on the Lightning Daimyō's behalf.
For now, only time will tell if the tensions truly rise out from the depths of suspicion for one another.
The Land of Lightning
Kumogakure has managed to push back Sunagakure's Wind-Nin, despite the losses they had sustained whilst doing so. Most of the neighbouring lands which have hidden villages of their own, can see the effects of such skirmishing and believe it has put both Kumogakure and Sunagakure in awkward, weakened positions; moreso the former than the latter, but only for home defense! As most of it's more experienced Shinobi were either away on missions or kept back from the fighting mostly.
For now they are recovering from Sunagakure's sly tactics and are preparing to invade Sunagakure, in full force if they managed to convince Konohagakure to allow them to pass freely through The Land of Fire; if not, the war will be drawn out much longer than what is desired by the Lightning Daimyō.

It is expected that if the Cloud-Nin that had been dispatched on missions worldwide return sooner rather than later, they'll be able to launch a counter-attack against Sunagakure and end the war swiftly, provided Konohagakure accepts their requests.
The Land of Water
The Water Daimyō has been visiting several villages within his nation in the past few weeks, including Kirigakure of which had it's funding restored. Despite this, there is growing unrest as the talk of a hostile organisation or rather 'Cult' seems to be making more and more of a public presence through terrorist acts within villages and by kidnapping, extorting and murdering civilians. For this, Kirigakure has been given the go ahead to deal with any individuals related to the Cult in whatever manner they deem fit; if they do manage to deal with the Cult completely, the Daimyō is willing to offer a substantial reward for the village's efforts.
As for the nation's scouting efforts; they've managed to discover further lands to the east, past The Land of Snow and have confirmed that Yukigakure still lays in ruins. They've reached The Land of Swamps and have been receiving detailed maps of the surrounding region of the unknown and most unusual eastern continent; it is has been reported by the scouting team that the region next door to The Land of Swamps is called 'The Land of Demons' which is surrounded by mountains and covered by forests that have trees which possess the darkest of leaves. The Land of Demons also cuts off access to the 'Scorched Desert' further beyond east with it's tall mountains and that the 'Scorched Desert' has nobody claiming the land other than cannibalistic savages, desperate bandits and tribes that consist of wild horsemen.
It is said, soon, that the advisor to the Daimyō will be greenlighting any village's wishes to conduct trading missions with the Nadeshiko Village and be officially supporting any efforts made; an official bulletin will be posted throughout The Land of Water when preparations are done.
The Land of Wind
The Land of Wind has seen better days; as Sunagakure continues it's war against Kumogakure and The Land of Lightning, the civilians begin to suffer and grow war weary. Despite the quieter internal affairs, things have grown caustic at the country's borders, due to the retreat of several Wind-Nin causing Konohagakure's Shinobi to react and obviously slow down and hinder their ability to move through The Land of Fire; the questioning of affairs that the Leaf-Nin have launched upon the wounded retreating from the failing campaign has caused unrest within Sunagakure's ranks and faith in their leadership and of course the Wind Daimyō.
People speculate there will be a civil war within The Land of Wind at this rate.
The Land of Fire
The Land of Fire has officially signed an agreement with The Land of Iron that marks the beginning of their alliance; it is most unusual and unexpected and some fear there may be reasons for this behind the scenes but so far nobody is questioning the reasons as to why The Land of Iron is acting so openly when it usually keeps to itself.
With this announcement however, Konohagakure is now preparing itself for war with both Sunagakure and Kumogakure, with the mindset of hope for the best, prepare for the worst. As they believe the war between both nations' hidden villages that they are sandwiched between may very well spill out onto their lands and therefore tumble out of control. This is just in time as well, as Amegakure has just finished the Chūnin exams that it was hosting and plenty of Leaf-Nin managed to graduate to the rank of Chūnin.
Amegakure
Amegakure has finished it's Chūnin exams that it was hosting for the following villages; Iwagakure, Ishigakure, Konohagakure and Sunagakure. Konohagakure and Sunagakure had received the most initial graduations of Genin to Chūnin, with Iwagakure closely behind them and with Ishigakure in fourth place but with plenty of recommendations for later promotion based on future intended service.
The village is also hosting an election for a new village head, who of which will receive the title of 'Amekage' if they are Shinobi. Fujii, Reo is expected to retire due to old age and will be succeeded by a high ranking Jōnin kunoichi named Tsuga, Haori.
The Land of Iron
The samurai within The Land of Iron have not been so silent; with the Land of Sound being next door and having been able to secure an alliance with The Land of Fire, it is suggested that The Land of Iron will either seek to bring The Land of Sound into said alliance or crush them completely. So far there has been no indication of any diplomatic effort being made just yet, so as it stands it is just assumption.
Other than that, it has been reported thirty samurai elites have been dispatched to Konohagakure, possibly to act as either training instructors or to aid in the upcoming war, should any break out due to increasing tension within the region.
