There’s been the seeds of conception rolling around in my head for quite some time now for a custom clan, and I think this is as good a place as any to throw it out there and see what kind of response it gets, granted new clans are still being searched for.
Clan Name: Gyōja (After the Japanese version of the Chinese legend Son Wukong, the Monkey King)
Clan History: The first members of the Gyōja clan hailed from the Land of Jungles. Son Gyōja, the first head of the Gyōja clan, along with his younger twin sisters, Tsuzara and Atsuya, founded a small village in the treetops of the immense tropical rainforests of the Land of Jungles called Oozarugakure, or the Village of the Hidden Ape, where the clan grew and prospered for many years before Atsuya, jealous of her elder brother’s position of power, struck out against him. In a horrific twist, however, upon trapping who Atsuya believed was her brother and his family in their home and setting fire to the treehouse, it was Tsuzara, Atsuya’s twin who had been trapped, as Son had been away from the village that day. Atsuya, who realized this only when Son returned and fell to his knees, crying out as the entire village was eventually devoured by the hungry blaze. Atsuya herself, who realized she had murdered her own twin sister, committed suicide by hurling herself from the highest point of the tree-top village. Son and the remaining Gyōja left, and eventually the clan was split. Son’s journey came to an end in the Land of Water, where he remarried and had a child, a boy named Oozaru, after the village.
The Gyōja clan possesses a unique KKG in the form of an uncharacteristically long, ape-like tail. It was Son Gyōja himself who discovered that he could detach his tail from his own body at will, and, by infusing his chakra through it, he could harden it into a virtually indestructible bo-staff. While it is attached to the body, a Gyōja’s tail acts as an extra limb, just as dexterous as their fingers, hands, arms or legs. Under the tutelage of Son, the Gyōja clan became extremely proficient in Taijutsu through mastery of the bo-staff to legendary degrees, and also proved extremely skilled in short to mid-range ninjutsu. Son himself developed fighting styles and techniques unique to the Gyōja clan’s unique kkg.
KKG
Saruno’o(Literally, The Great Ape’s Tail)
From birth the Gyōja are born with a furry, ape-like tail that is almost twice the length of their bodies. Through training and mastery of their chakra, the Gyōja are able to detach their tail at will, harden it for use as a tool or weapon(i.e. bo-staff), re-attach it to their bodies, and use it as a fully reliable extra appendage. The fur covering the tail usually matched the person’s hair color.
Techs|Perks|Profs
T1
Bojutsu Initiate: This person has studied the basics of staff combat, and as such, is able to strike more proficiently, and can more effectively block and counter standard Taijutsu attacks with their staff. [+1 step to Damage and Defense calc when a staff is equipped. If they have a teacher, it is +2 steps to calcs. Requires D Agility, D- Stamina, D- Strength, E Control, E Endurance and D- Speed
Lemur Sweep: This person drops low to ground and spins, sweeping their staff around at enemies feet and ankles with enough force to knock them to the ground. [2x2 AoE, D Stamina Cost, D- Damage (caps at D+) Knockdown to all effected enemies]
There is more techs and perks and such for later tiers as well, but I’m on my phone right now, and will add them when I have a pc to use lol!
